The aim of this workshop is to introduce laparoscopic urology surgeries to our participants. Animals model will be used. It will be a full day workshop with lectures and dry lab practice session in the morning and hand-on practice in the afternoon.
The topics that will be covered in the morning lecture series will includes:
- Introduction to Laparoscopic nephrectomy
- Dissecting the adrenal gland and nephrectomy
- Difficult nephrectomy – tips and strategies
- Dissecting and haemostatic devices
- Partial nephrectomy
- Pyeloplasty and ureterolithotomy
In the afternoon, participants will be given the opportunity to practise on animal models. The exercises that will be covered include
- Port placement
- Mobilisation of kidney and ureter
- Vascular control
- Specimen delivery
The total number of participants for this workshop is limited to 30 delegates.
